What is 5’Alive Campaign?
We are all surrounded by many who need to hear the gospel – families, friends, colleagues, neighbors. Imagine if every person in your congregation invited 4 friends or family that they would love to see come to faith and journey with them throughout the new year, starting with running Alpha together!
The 5’Alive Campaign aims to support you, the church, to re-inspire your congregation to “go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19) through their natural network of relationships.
Register your Alpha and get a free audio splitter
To help you run Alpha anywhere, if you register to run Alpha before March 2022 we will give you an audio splitter which allows five people to connect to one device to watch the Alpha Film Series together.
As soon as you sign up and confirm your start dates (before March 2022), contact the team to pick up your audio splitter (for free), from the Alpha Nigeria office, to ease you and your friends watch your videos together.
How to partake in the campaign?
Participating in 5’Alive involves 4 simple steps, which are:
- Identify: Prayerfully identify 4 people to share their faith with in 2022.
- Pray: Begin to pray for the salvation of the souls of these 4 friends, family members, colleagues, neighbors.
- Sign up: Visit Alpha website (run.alphanigeria.org) to sign up to host Alpha and access your Alpha resources, for free For help with signing-up, complete this form and our team will make contact with you to help
- Invite: invite these 4 people to join you in a conversation on life’s big questions using the Alpha Film Series either online or in-person
Who can take part?
Individuals: Just like the woman by the well in John 4 who just met Jesus and went to the village to invite the everyone to come and listen to Jesus, the 5’Alive is open to every believer – both new and mature, who want to see others come to faith.
Churches: This is open to all churches who want to encourage and mobilize their congregation to become missionary disciples
How can churches prepare for this?
- Invite and mobilise members to join the campaign.
- Create a special day of prayer where members come together to pray for all their non-believing friends.
- Train participating members on what to do and provide them with all the resources.
- Identify champions among your members to lead this effort.
- Set a kick-off date to launch together.

Features of 5’Alive Campaign
1. Friendship at the core
Humans are social beings, making friends and staying in touch with friends is one thing we cherish. As many are afraid of talking to strangers on faith matters, we can all start with those we are already in relationship with – colleagues at work, neighbours, families, classmates, friends, etc.
The 5’Alive campaign give us an opportunity to explore this great opportunity to see more people in our network encountering Jesus.
2. Short & Engaging videos
Each session is made up of 25mins videos on different foundational issues of faith. Just like a series of short documentary on Christian faith. These videos can be played on mobile phones, laptop, tablets or Tv screens.
With the Alpha splitters, it means 5 people can conveniently go through Alpha using their mobile devices.
3. Non-threatening discussion
Each session comes with a set of questions to facilitate discussion. This allows you to know what your friends think about faith issues, Jesus, and God.
No pressure in deciding instantly but there is openness to help them do so.
4. Anywhere & Everywhere
Since these are friends we are already doing life with, then we are not limited to a particular day or location to engage with the gospel.
We will see believers translating from church members to becoming missionary disciples.
5. Journey Together
Salvation can happen at an instant, but evangelism is a process.
This takes away the pressure of seeing our friends make instant decision, which is the work of the Holy Spirit, it rather allows us to focus on our responsibility of presenting this gospel to them and journey with them to a point of salvation.
