Manage an Alpha

Follow the step-by-step guide below to edit your Alpha details, create small
groups, add participants, and assign hosts for the Alpha.

At the top, you can edit the following Alpha details: 
  • The Alpha name is displayed name shown on participants’ dashboards, waiting room, and within the Alpha sessions 
  • The Country displayed is the same as what was given when setup from MyAlpha. You are not able to change the country. 
  • The Alpha language is the same as what was given when setup from MyAlpha. If the language from MyAlpha isn’t available yet in Alpha Now, it will default to English. You can change the language.  
  • The Alpha description is displayed as part of the Alpha on participants’ dashboards. Initially the description will be the same as what was given when setup from MyAlpha, but you can change it. The description should give participants useful details about the Alpha.

How to create a small group 
  1. Click the “Add new group” button on the right hand side 
  2. Click on the small group name to edit the name which will be displayed in the waiting room 
How to add participants to a small group 
  1. In the Invite section, enter the email address of each participant you want to add. Make sure to separate each email with a comma (,) 
  2. When you’re done, click “Add participants” 
  3. Each email will be seen in the Unassigned Participants section. Click on the circle next to all the participants you want to select to be added to the same small group 
  4. Click on the “Move to” button which will show a dropdown of all the available small groups 
  5. Click on the small group name where you want the selected participants to be added to 
How to move participants to a different small group 
  1. Click on the circle next to all the participants you want to be moved to another small group 
  2. Click on the “Move to” button which will show a dropdown of all the available small groups 
  3. Click on the small group name where you want the selected participants to be moved to 
How to make a participant a host 
  1. Click on the three-dots on the righthand side of the participant you want to be a host 
  2. The Modify Privileges section will appear 
  3. Click on the checkbox next to Host 
FAQ 
  1. Is there a limit to the number of participants in a small group? 
    • Yes, a small group can’t have more than 49 participants 
  1. Is there a limit to the number of small groups in an Alpha? 
    • Yes, an Alpha can’t have more than 2,000 small groups 
  1. Is there a limit to the number of participants in an Alpha? 
    • Yes, an Alpha can’t have more than 2,000 total participants across all the small groups 
  1. When are my changes saved? 
    • Changes are automatically saved as the actions are done 
  1. How long can my Alpha name be? 
    • An Alpha name is limited to 100 characters
